Reckless?

November 21, 2008

As a teacher of science for more than 40 years I was appalled by the picture I saw on the front page of the Press last Saturday. There I saw Mr. Pacewicz holding a container of liquid nitrogen for Ryan West to blow into. If any of the liquid nitrogen had spilled onto Ryan he would have felt the shock of a liquid hitting his body that was 328 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. That would mean instant frostbite. His skin would be destroyed and who knows what would have happened to his heart and lungs. I am very glad that nothing happened, but Mr. Pacewicz should have known better.
