The Friends of the Harvard Council on Aging donated $3,000 to the Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Committee to help elderly and disabled residents of Harvard pay their real estate taxes. On Monday, Nov. 17, Friends of the COA treasurer Renee Senes presented a check to E&D Taxation Aid Committee Chairman Rick Maoire and committee members Cindy Dumser and Vicki Smith, Harvard’s town treasurer.
“Recently, the Friends of the COA held a very successful fashion show at Fruitlands, with a share of the proceeds designated for the E&D fund,” said Maoire. “Given current economic conditions, this gift by the Friends of the COA provides a much appreciated jump-start for this year’s solicitation campaign for the fund. We hope it will be augmented by the continuing generosity of Harvard residents.”
