There’s been a lot of buzz lately about the Museum of Russian Icons (State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow icon collection) in Clinton. There are also new exhibits at the Museum of Science (Dragons and Mythical Creatures) and at the MFA (Treasures from Assyria), among others.
We thought it would be a good time to remind the citizens of Harvard that one of the things that the Friends of the Harvard Library does with the money we raise is buy museum passes. The library makes them available to HPL card holders at no charge. You can even reserve them online at www.harvardpubliclibrary.org/hpl_museumpasses.htm.
With the weather getting colder and the days shorter, it’s a great time to go to a museum, and these passes are a great deal. Here is a partial list of the museum passes that are available: Berkshire Museum, Boston Children’s Museum, Butterfly Place, Concord Museum, DeCordova Museum, Discovery Museum, Ecotarium, Fruitlands, Higgins Armory, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum-weekday, Massachusetts ParksPass, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Russian Icons, Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, Peabody Essex Museum, Tower Hill Botanical Garden
Thanks to the support of residents we are able to make these passes available. We also provide funding for children’s programs, library equipment, the Books at Home program, and arts events at Volunteers Hall (don’t forget legendary Irish harpist/singer Aine Minogue on Nov. 15).
