At the Nov. 10 School Committee meeting Superintendent Tom Jefferson awarded the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Certificate of Academic Achievement to Bromfield senior Sam Dorward. Jefferson praised Dorward as an outstanding student, a dedicated athlete, and an effective leader. Dorward has been recognized as an AP Scholar and is a commended student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. He is a member of the National Honor Society, as well as president of the Spanish Honor Society and a member of the French Honor Society at Bromfield. Class president for all four years of high school, Sam is also a peer tutor, member of the cross country and track teams and of the varsity math team and academic bowl. In his junior year he was the recipient of the Colgate Book Award.
