Election Day is fast approaching and people have probably settled on their candidate for president, so in the last few days before super Tuesday I’d like to remind voters not to forget about the local races. As a selectman, I know how important it is to have state senators and representatives who really understand the challenges we face in a small community like Harvard. Senator Pam Resor has met those challenges with us and as she heads into retirement I can’t think of a better person to step into her seat in the Massachusetts Senate than Jamie Eldridge. As our state representative, Jamie has increased local aid funding for our schools in Harvard every single year he has been in office. Jamie Eldridge has secured important investments in our workforce and infrastructure, worked to close corporate loopholes, helped create hundreds of new jobs, and helped secure hundreds of millions of dollars in local investments that will protect Harvard and our state from the detrimental effects of the downturn in the national economy. We have some big decisions ahead of us and I can see no better person help us tackle them than Jamie Eldridge. I urge residents to vote with me on Tuesday for Jamie Eldridge.
