, daughter of Rich and Pat Tuzzolo of Myrick Lane, is traveling with her Flagler College (St. Augustine, Fla) women’s basketball team to play in the Courtyard by Marriott Classic at Merrimack College in Andover Nov. 21 and 22. Flagler will face Bellarmine University in the opening game at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening, followed by a 7:30 p.m. tip-off for Merrimack College versus Dowling College. The tournament will conclude with games at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Tuzzolo played four years of varsity basketball under Coach Tom Hill at Bromfield where, as an eighth-grader, she joined an outstanding team of seniors in an amazing run to the finals of the state MIAA tournament. After leaving Bromfield, Tuzzolo played for two undefeated seasons at Tabor Academy, followed by a year at Division I Drexel University. In her two years at Flagler College Tuzzolo has averaged 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while starting 58 of 59 games. Her 42 blocked shots last season is a Flagler women’s basketball record.
Tuzzolo is looking forward to her team’s trip north and hopes to see many former teammates and friends at the game. After Saturday’s final games, the Flagler team will enjoy an early Thanksgiving dinner in Harvard at the Tuzzolo home.
