Tuesday, October 21: Bifocals found at the transfer station and turned in at the police station at 9:07 a.m. are still there waiting to be claimed, along with purple-framed glasses found at a conservation area and turned in at 9:10 a.m. A woman stopped at the station at 5:30 p.m. to call someone to pick her up after her car spun out on Route 2. She had a bump on the head but refused medical attention. A deer was on the losing end of an encounter with a car on Littleton Road at 7:40 p.m. At 8:14 p.m. a caller on East Bare Hill Road reported that her child had not been seen since going out to play 45 minutes earlier. The child was found sleeping in the play room.
Wednesday, October 22: A resident on Old Littleton Road called at four minutes past midnight to report that her husband thought there was an intruder in the house because he had heard an unfamiliar phone ringing. The sound was discovered to have been coming from their son’s electronic game. A caller reported seeing sparks coming from a utility pole at Oak Hill and Pinnacle roads at 6:23 a.m. National Grid was notified. At 1:23 p.m. a caller on Ayer Road reported seeing a bobcat in the area of the Barn School. A woman called at 8:08 p.m. to report hitting a deer with her car. The deer left the scene. After stopping a car at 9:31 p.m. on Ayer Road, officers discovered that a 17-year-old female passenger was a runaway from the Department of Children and Families (formerly the Department of Social Services). That department was notified and sent a representative to pick her up.
Thursday, October 23: An officer on patrol investigated a car parked on Depot Road at 9:21 a.m. and found it belonged to bow hunters in the area. At 11:05 a.m. a woman having a reaction to medication was transported from Park Lane to Emerson Hospital. At 2:01 p.m. a woman who had fallen from a horse was taken from Bolton Road to Emerson Hospital. A railroad employee called at 7:11 p.m., suspicious of people with flashlights near the train crossing. The people were found to be deer hunters on the Oxbow. (Police warn that bow hunting season is now open, and advise walkers on the Oxbow to wear something brightly colored, such as fluorescent orange vests, to make sure they aren’t mistaken for deer by hunters.)
Friday, October 24: Police stopped a car for speeding on Route 2 at 43 minutes past midnight and arrested the driver, Eric Moore, 38, of Westborough, for operating under the influence of alcohol. The ambulance was dispatched at 11:06 a.m. in response to a call about a person who had fallen on the road and had lacerations to the face. The person refused transport to the hospital. An officer on patrol investigated a car parked on the railroad tracks on Depot Road at 11:50 a.m. and found that it belonged to a railroad worker. At 5:56 p.m. a caller on Woodchuck Hill Road reported that a speeding car on the wrong side of the road had driven over a political sign in her yard. Police found the vehicle, whose driver, a man from Acton, said that he had not done it on purpose. At 6:24 p.m. a caller reported seeing a car, being driven erratically, turn in at a Slough Road address. Police located the man and determined he was not impaired.
Saturday, October 25: The ambulance transported someone to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Warren Ave. address at 1:43 a.m. At 3:14 a.m. Sgt. Jim Babu stopped a company vehicle for having defective equipment and issued a summons to the driver for operating with a suspended license. They notified the owner to retrieve the vehicle and issued him a summons for having a vehicle on the road with defective equipment. An anonymous caller contacted the station at 9:54 a.m. to report that there was a young man on a motorcycle speeding up and down Craggs Road. The caller suspected the vehicle was not registered. Police did not located the motorcycle. A man on South Shaker Road reported at 11 a.m. that his mailbox had been vandalized for the third time. Police are investigating.
Sunday, October 26: A woman was transported from a Warren Ave. address to UMass Medical Center, with ALS on board, at 1:25 p.m. At the same time another ambulance call came in to the station, and the Littleton ambulance responded, transporting a woman from Old Littleton Road to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. At 7:03 p.m. the ambulance transported a woman to Nashoba Valley Medical Center after she fell and injured her head. Police on patrol checked out a car parked on South Shaker Road at 9:46 p.m., and found it belonged to a teen who was waiting for a friend.
Monday, October 27: A caller phoned the station at 6:16 p.m. requesting information from Detective Izzo. A woman stopped at the station at 11 p.m. to advise police she had just moved to town and to inform them of a restraining order that was in place against her ex-husband.
