As we approach a very important election on Nov. 4 in the race for state representative, I urge Harvard voters to give careful consideration to the unique experience and strong character of Jen Benson. Jen is the current chairwoman of the Lunenburg School Committee and liaison to the Finance Committee. She understands the needs of small towns such as Harvard. One of our biggest challenges in the future will be how to continue to support our schools and maintain town services in these dreadful economic times. Her knowledge of school and municipal budgets and her pragmatic approach will make her an invaluable advocate for our community in the State House.
After meeting Jen, you can’t help but be drawn to her solid values and her infectious optimistic attitude. Whether she is talking about growing up in a working-class family or raising her three children, she quickly impresses with her grasp of the issues facing the average person. Jen has the critical skills and background to become an effective legislator.
