As coordinators for last week’s Fall into Fashion show to support Harvard’s Council on Aging and Elderly & Disabled Tax Relief Fund, we’d like to thank the community for pulling together to show its support in bringing much-needed focus on the needs of and appreciation for Harvard’s seniors.
It was a success—good laughs, a fun show, and a great mix of folks coming together for a great cause. It was Harvard at its best. Our committee is looking forward to next year’s show, so if you missed this one—plan on next fall.
We’d like to thank Fruitlands Museum for its very generous support of our efforts, and Gould’s for supplying the clothing and conducting the show. Little did we know we had such modeling talent in Harvard! Many thanks to all of our models representing Harvard clubs and organizations, our numerous generous sponsors, and donors of items for our silent auction, all mentioned in previous articles.
Behind the scenes, we depended on the talents and hard work of some terrific Harvard folks: Keith Turner and Russell Phalen (lighting and sound); B.J. Pessia, Pat Jennings, and Belinda Friedrich (food); Sue George, Valerie Hurley, and Liz Wood (desserts); Imogen Rooney (program artwork); Steve Abrams and Claire Rindenello (music). We thank them for giving so much of themselves—they really helped to make this event a success.
When you pull a group of busy ladies together, they get things done, as was so true of our committee: Marcie Donahue, Mina Levitsky, Anne Marie Rowse, Ellen Leicher, Claire Rindenello, Renee Senes, Liz Wood, Michelle Swearingen, and Cindy Steeves.
Thanks to all who participated in this fundraising event. We left that evening with a sigh of relief, with a laugh remembering events of the evening, and with pride in our wonderful community that is Harvard.
