On daughter’s 30th birthday
You came into this world
Eager to begin
To live, to learn, to love,
To run with the wind.
You took off at a tear,
Cutting two teeth early on,
Talking in short sentences
And singing lots of songs.
You colored and you drew;
Built Lego cities to the sky.
You played instruments galore,
For perfection you would strive.
We’ve loved watching you grow,
The school years passing by;
The concerts were so many,
And “Modem Grrl” was born to fly.
As accomplished as you are
What we love about you most
Is the person you’ve become,
As proud parents we often boast.
We look forward to the future
All the chapters yet to see;
