Bromfield senior competes in PMC
Dek Tuttle, Still River resident and Bromfield senior, rode 111 miles on Saturday, Aug. 2, in the Pan Mass Challenge, and was part of an effort to raise $34 million for cancer research and the Jimmy Fund. Tuttle’s ride was sponsored by a number of friends and families in Harvard.
Calderwood named to all-academic track team
Wheaton College senior Lily Calderwood, a Bromfield graduate, was among 232 women from Division III to recently land on the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic track team. To qualify, a student athlete must have completed a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and met an NCAA Campionship automatic or provisional qualifying standard during the indoor or outdoor season.
Dalconzo and MacMahon compete in New Hampshire triathlon
Pattie Dalconzo and Ted MacMahon of Harvard competed in New Hampshire’s recent Mooseman Half-Iron Triathlon (1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, 13.1-mile run). Their performances qualified them for the USA Triathlon Halfmax National Championships in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple trains at Swymfit at Harvard Ridge.
Thornton and DeZutter complete Littleton triathlon
Harvard residents Lynn Thornton of Mill Road and Jim DeZutter of Eldridge Road completed the Appleman Triathlon in Littleton on Sunday, July 20. The event consisted of a 0.5-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride, and a 3-mile run, with about one mile of the run off-road, through fields and woods. Cheered on by her husband, Mike, and sons, Lynn captured third place in her age group (35 to 39) with a time of1:08:26. Jim, supported by his wife, Pat, and other family members, finished first in his age group (70 to 74) with a time of 2:09:21.

Harvard Hurricanes place in Bay State Games
The Harvard Hurricans soccer team participated in the 2008 Bay State Summer Games 7×7 Soccer Tournament at Devens the weekend of July 19 and 20. The team competed in the Girls U14 division and came home with a bronze medal.
