The Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee has announced that Rick Dickson recently received a Certificate of Appreciation Good Neighbor Award from Realtor® Magazine for his volunteer efforts to control invasive water chestnut growth in Bare Hill Pond. The Good Neighbor awards recognize special efforts of realtors to donate their time and effort to local community projects.
Committee Chairman Bruce Leicher said, “Rick’s commitment of more than 250 hours a year to operating the harvester, organizing weed pulls, and pulling and patrolling for water chestnuts have made it possible for us to bring the water chestnut invasion in the pond under control.”
