On Friday, May 30, Ariel Matisse graduated from Lawrence Academy during the school’s 215th commencement exercises in Groton. An honors student throughout her schooling, Ariel earned high honors for her final term, while completing classes in photography, drawing, English, anatomy and physiology, and forensics. Her winterims, two-week experiential learning sessions that take place every March, included a session about traditional and modern uses of herbs and another in sports journalism, for which she observed events, interviewed, and learned how to pitch and write a story.

The daughter of Linda Hoffman of Harvard and Paul Matisse of Groton, Ariel has dedicated many years to her training in dressage and has become an accomplished rider. Following her graduation, she will continue training to prepare for international competition in the sport.
