Fireworks and music festival coming

June 27, 2008

I would like to invite all Havard citizens to our annual fireworks display and music festival Saturday, June 28, (rain date Sunday, June 29). The festivities start at 5 p.m. Bring your family and friends and a picnic blanket and give yourself the night off from cooking. The Harvard Lions Club will be selling dinner favorites and drinks. There will be an ice cream vendor to satisfy your sweet tooth. This year we have six talented Harvard bands that will perform. The lineup includes: Will Deeks & Friends, Still River Band, October Surprise, Bare Hill Band, Bill Cordner & Keith Miles, Wendy Saydah & Steve Miller. Fireworks will start at dusk. One big announcement is that we have secured what are called carbon offsets, or renewable energy credits, to counter the energy used for this event and more. We will be advertising this as a carbon-free, green event; see www.climatesave.com.

For more information, visit the town of Harvard’s website, Fourth of July.
