Mother of Harvard woman
Barbara A. (Young) Wright, 70, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 after a long illness. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Wright grew up as an Army brat and traveled quite a bit during her childhood. She was married in 1958 to John Wright Jr. and raised her two children in Georgia and Texas. After her husband’s unexpected death in 1978, she moved with her daughter to Ship Bottom, N.J. to be near her own parents, Eleanor and William Young. In 1976 she began studying psychology, and in 1985 graduated from Rutgers University with a doctorate. She had private practice in Toms River, N.J. until she retired in 2005 due to illness. At that time Mrs. Wright moved to Massachusetts to be near her daughter.
She was the mother of Ginger Watts of Harvard and Keith Wright of Allen, Texas; grandmother of Ellie and Jenny Watts, and Brooke and Cole Wright; sister of Ginny and Werner Schuele of Brewster. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A family reunion is planned for this summer on Long Beach, N.J., to celebrate her life in a place very special to the family. A memorial service will be held at that time.
Arrangements are by the Acton Funeral Home, Acton.
