Last Wednesday the Harvard Fire Department partnered with Baskin-Robbins ice cream and the Catalano companies on Ayer Road in their annual “31 cent scoop night” fundraiser to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The foundation provides support and benefits to the families of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The NFFF will receive a check for $100,000 from the Baskin Robbins parent company.
At the invitation of the Catalano family, the Harvard Fire Department conducted a “fill-the-boot-drive” to benefit the SAFE (Student Awareness of Fire Education) program, which the family kicked off with a donation of $500. The SAFE program received more than $650 in donations. The program is supported entirely by grants and donations.
