I have been a resident of Harvard for 44 years and have always felt a great affinity toward it. More so last week when I had the misfortune to have an unexpected visit to Nashoba Hospital. I was still under some anesthetic when I came home and was unaware that I had knocked the phone off the hook. It was a pleasant surprise to find Officer Jack Izzo (alerted by a caller who suspected a problem) come in to check on me. He could not have been more solicitous, offering help to make me more stable—even offering to get me a meal. He was the soul of kindness and caring. The next morning as he went by on his beat he once more stopped in just to see how I was. I was very touched!
I was, and am, most impressed by this kindly, warm man and would like you to know how appreciative I am—he could not have been more solicitous and is the very epitome of everything that a fine country policeman should be. Can you imagine this happening in a big city? Thank you Officer Jack Izzo.
