There are several major issues currently simmering in town that raise the real prospect of a significant (and adverse) change in the type of community in which we all live. Devens, whether a lot, a little, or none comes back to Harvard, will impact our budget and infrastructure in a number of ways, none of them good. Pending affordable housing projects threaten to overwhelm our schools and budget.
It is time for some new blood and a fresh approach. That is why I am voting for Leo Blair for selectman. I have known him for almost 25 years. He has owned and operated a number of manufacturing businesses and has been a highly successful entrepreneur. He has hired and managed hundreds of employees. He has made and kept to budgets and has developed creative approaches to the problems that he has faced in his businesses over many years.
In the past year I have served with Leo on the Planning Board, and he has brought a unique perspective to development issues. He also brings a cooperative, non-confrontational approach to problem-solving.
We need Leo’s drive and intelligence at this critical juncture in our community.
