I am a sophomore at Hobart and William Smith in Geneva, N.Y. For the first time ever, our school is taking part in Relay For Life, a one-night event that brings people together to support the American Cancer Society. I am acting as co-chair of this amazing event, which is set to take place on April 4 to 5. I have had a great deal of support from my peers here at HWS, three of whom are fellow Bromfield graduates Rachel Malley, Rebecca Dennee, and Stephen Sweeney.
The proceeds from Relay For Life go to the American Cancer Society, which works to prevent cancer and helps those already experiencing the effects of this terrible disease. As a leukemia survivor, I know that I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for all the hard work and generous support associated with events like this one.
Our fundraising goal as a first-year relay is about $35,000 dollars, so we need all the help we can get. Any contribution, however small, would be greatly appreciated.
