Former nurse, paramedic on ambulance squad

Donna E. (Hardy) Harrod, 64, of Still River, former nurse and Harvard paramedic, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007.
Born in Clinton, she was the daughter of Alice E. Bowden of Lancaster and the late Dwight E. Hardy. She attended school at the South Lancaster Academy and received a nursing degree from Atlantic Union College.
As an R.N., she worked in the emergency room at Nashoba Hospital in Ayer for many years, and joined the Harvard Ambulance Squad as a paramedic, responding to calls and teaching courses.
Donna was an avid photographer who enjoyed traveling to Florida, South America, and Europe, and was a faithful Red Sox fan.
Donna is survived by her mother; her husband, E. Warren Harrod of Still River; her daughters, Denise Reid of Hudson and Melissa Davis of Illinois; her son John Schumacher of Clinton; her brother Gerry Hardy of Clinton; and three grandchildren.
A service was held at the South Lancaster Village Church, 75 Sawyer St. in South Lancaster, Wednesday, Nov. 7. Arrangements were by Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. in Littleton
