Selectmen support Chapter 70 funding

The selectmen unanimously voted to support the passage of Senate Bill 291, which would adjust education funding to increase the state share of special education funding and local aid. If the bill is passed, Harvard public schools are eligible to receive $370,000 in Chapter 70 funding. The Board of Selectmen voted to send an official email in support of the bill.

Tim Clark appointed

Tim Clark volunteered to serve as the selectmen’s representative to the School Strategic Planning Steering Committee and was quickly appointed to that post.

Community Preservation Committee needs volunteers

Responding to a plea from the Community Preservation Committee (CPC), the selectmen are asking residents to consider serving on the CPC. CPC members explore ways to preserve open space, create affordable housing in Harvard, and consider grant requests. Interested residents should contact Don Boyce, chairman of the CPC, at 978-456-8723.
