Sticker Woes
Bill Poitras of Shirley spoke to the selectmen on behalf of his mother, Harvard resident Helen Poitras at a meeting of the Board of Selectmen. No longer driving for health reasons, she does not own a car; therefore, when Bill went to apply for a transfer station sticker for his truck so he could take his mother’s trash to the transfer station, he was denied. Despite the explanation that his mother was a resident, Poitras could not obtain a sticker. He asked the selectmen to fix this situation; he said that all Harvard taxpayers, regardless of whether or not they have a vehicle registered in town, should be able to dispose of their rubbish at the town facility. The selectmen promised to address the issue.
Appointment
The selectmen voted unanimously to appoint Ron Ricci to the Bare Hill Pond Watershed Committee.
