Navy veteran; was born and raised in Harvard
Phyllis Margaret Colbert, 72, who was born and brought up in Harvard, died in her home in San Francisco May 6 after a long illness. She was the beloved widow of Wesley C. Colbert.
Born October 18, 1934, to Dora and Howard Perry, Phyllis graduated from the old Bromfield Academy. She served in the U.S. Navy as a physician’s assistant, then enjoyed a career as an administrator at the California State Workers Compensation Division.
She cherished many long-lasting friendships, among them with Betty Mulhearn, Owen Smith, and Barbara Mastro. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, granddaughter, nieces, and nephews.
Phyllis Colbert is survived by her daughter, Melissa Ann Morauer; son-in-law, Richard C. Morauer, Jr. of Cary, North Carolina; and granddaughter, Leigh Ann Morauer, also of Cary. She was also the mother of the late Paul Stuart Colbert. Other survivors are nephews David Sylvain of Atlanta, Georgia, Jason Bulger of San Francisco, Christopher Jeffery of Cameron, Missouri, and Stephen Frederick of Woodside, California; and nieces Claudia Coleman of Topsham, Vermont, and Anne Frederick of Fairfield, California. She was the sister of the late Jeanne Sylvain, Jacquelyn Du Fault, and Anne Grimes.
Funeral services took place in San Francisco Saturday, May 12.
