Harvard Press launches website

May 18, 2007

The Harvard Press marked its six-month anniversary this week by launching its website, www.harvardpress.com. The site contains all information available in the Press’s print newspaper, although the search function and some content, such as People, General Store classified ads, and Letters to the Editor, are reserved for subscribers only.

Photos run in the newspaper will be posted on the site, in color, and additional photo galleries are in development. Photographer and photo editor Lisa Aciukewicz said that the best part of the website, for her, is “the fact that we can show more photos than we have room to print and they’ll be in color!”

Four weeks of the paper are available on the site; the 22 earlier issues will be added as time allows, according to webmaster Worth Robbins.

Current newspaper subscribers will need to register on the website for full access to the Press, Robbins said. To register, click Register on the upper right of the home page and complete the required information. If access is not available after 24 hours, log on, click on the Subscribe link, then click “validate your subscription.” Send comments, report problems, or ask questions by using the Contact Us link. Someone should reply within 24 hours, Robbins said.
