Last Friday the Bromfield girls tennis team could not pull out the victory against the Hopedale High School Blue Raiders, despite hard playing. The team record stands at 1–2.
At first singles, sophomore Jacqui Holmes fell 4–6, 1–6. Senior captain Greta Hutchinson won a three-set match; after losing the first set, she sealed victory with a strong third set. The score was 5–7, 7–5, 6–0. Junior Ellery Yahia lost a three-setter 4–6, 6–4, 4–6.
In the doubles positions, senior captains Courtney Kenyon and Kara Lambert lost a close match. They split the first sets 2–6, 6–4. Their third set went to a tiebreaker before they lost 6–7. The second doubles team of sophomores Caroline Korstvedt and Emily Egan lost 2–6, 2–6.
The Trojan women will host Littleton High School Monday.
