Mother and grandmother of Harvard residents

Ruth M. (Campbell) Seuss, 75, of 14 Mt. View Drive in Clinton, died Friday, March 9, after an illness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ronald P. Seuss, who died in 2004. She leaves behind a son, Ronald P. Seuss, Jr., and his companion, Pamela Curley of Clinton; a daughter, Laurie A. Garvey, and her husband, Glenn, of Harvard; a brother, Donald Campbell of West Yarmouth; a step-sister, Jacqueine Wilder Seuss of Clinton; three grandchildren, Jennifer and Andrew Miller and Carolyn Garvey, all of Harvard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born in Clinton to the late Innes and Sarah (Foster) Campbell Wilder and lived there most of her life. She graduated from the Clinton High School class of 1950, known as “The Nifty Fifty,” and throughout her career held employment with the J. J. Newberry Co., Van Brode Milling Co., and the Clinton Item. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Clinton, where she served as the church historian, financial secretary, and on the Fellowship Committee.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. She enjoyed making many crafts, along with camping and traveling with her family.
Funeral services were to be held Monday, March 12, at 11 a.m. in the Presbyterian Church (USA), 175 Chestnut St., Clinton, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church (USA), elevator fund, 175 Chestnut St., Clinton, MA 01510, or to a charity of one’s choice.
