Boxborough police called dispatch at 10:38 p.m. to ask Harvard police to be on the lookout for a man they believe had consumed an entire bottle of Nyquil. No one matching the description was found in Harvard.
Wednesday, March 7
A Depot Road homeowner locked out of the car called police at 7:27 a.m. An officer helped open the car, and the homeowner went to work.
Thursday, March 8
Lights left on in the lower level of St. Theresa’s alarmed a passerby, who called police at 2:05 p.m. to report the situation. Police searched the building, and determined that the lights had been left on by mistake. A two-car accident took place on Ayer Road at 10:58 a.m. A truck driven by a man from Townsend was turning left into the post office when he was hit from behind by a West Heating and Oil truck driven by a man from Worcester. Chief Denmark said extenuating circumstances in the accident resulted in no citations for either driver. A carbon monoxide alarm rang at a residence on Littleton Road at 9:55 p.m. The fire officer responding to the call found a faulty burner, and shut it down.
Friday, March 9
A woman from Ayer called dispatch at 5:55 p.m. to tell police that her disabled car would be left overnight in the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot. A car belonging to a man from Holden broke down near Mass. Avenue and Still River Road at 7:29 p.m. He called AAA to tow the car.
Saturday, March 10
A report of a “good-sized” brush fire on Old Littleton Road came in at 8:37 p.m. The fire officer investigating found a large cooking fire in the backyard of the home.
Sunday, March 11
Officer Newman led a tour of the station for a group of Boy Scouts at 5 p.m. At 6:35 p.m., a Craggs Road homeowner called dispatch to report that the tractor in her shed was on fire. She asked her son to fight the fire while she made the call, and he successfully put out the flames before the fire officer arrived. A resident of Littleton Road requested medical help from the emergency medical team at 10:50 p.m., but she was successfully treated at home and refused transport to a hospital.
Monday, March 12
Two Sherry Road homeowners who had been gone from the house for a long period of time called police at 10:33 a.m. to report extensive water damage from frozen pipes. The water, which came from the top level of the house, leaked through both stories and collected in the basement. The homeowners were afraid the boiler and electrical systems were in danger, and asked for help from the fire department. Harvard and Boxborough emergency personnel responded and vacuumed the water out of the basement before shutting down the boiler and electrical system. An officer helped a Prospect Hill Road resident get into his locked car at 7:23 p.m.
