Thanks to all the wonderful host families, NEMFA committee members, town of Harvard Park and Recreation and highway employees, town newspapers, and school officials, the 80th Annual New England Music Festival was a stunning success. More than 180 families from Harvard, Ayer, Groton, Stow, Boxborough, Bolton, Billerica, Acton, Gardner, Lunenburg, Lancaster, and Littleton participated. Your hospitality was sincerely appreciated by the 450 students, and you contributed greatly to the success of this important cultural event.
A special thanks to Tom Reynolds, director of Bromfield Music Department, for all his dedication to the music students and for making NEMFA a community endeavor that will be remembered for more than just a snowstorm. The festival brought many families together to enjoy a splendid occasion, the joy of music and sharing.
Despite the tactical glitches along the way, the delays in communication that may have caused confusion and frustration, and the snowstorm, the students were safely delivered to Lowell, and the concert went on as planned. It was wonderful music from a talented group of students, including those from Bromfield.
We thank all who participated for making our job easier. The success of pulling off a challenging event for a community of our size certainly says a lot of good things about Harvard
