Kudos to Ron Ricci, a candidate for selectman, who made a greatly appreciated effort Saturday morning throughout the first shift at the Harvard transfer and recycling station. Instead of standing with the usual gaggle of candidates and their supporters around the entrance, holding signs and drinking coffee, Ron made himself useful and shoveled the snow from the previous night’s storm, enabling the volunteers to do their jobs. When townspeople arrived with their recyclables, Ron didn’t stop to campaign or “press the flesh,” he just continued to move snow. A “random act of kindness” from a politician—now there is a breath of fresh air, or is that an “oxy-more-Ron”?
