Police stopped a Fitchburg man on Ayer Road for driving a car with an expired license plate at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday and cited him a traffic violation. The car was towed. Dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from the Bromfield School at 8:18 a.m., but the investigating officer found no cause for the call. Right after that call, a request for medical assistance came in from a Blanchard Road woman, who was transported to Nashoba Hospital. Police served two warrants to a resident of Stow Road, the first at 7:38 p.m. and the second at 9:13 p.m. Two Harvard drivers collided on Oak Hill Road at 8:07 p.m. when one, exceeding speed limits and outside marked lanes, hit the other, which was coming from the opposite direction. There were no injuries, but the second vehicle was towed from the scene.
Wednesday, Nov. 29
At 10:55 a.m. a caller on Old Littleton Road reported finding expired fireworks at the end of his driveway. An East Bare Hill Road resident called police at 5:02 to report a damaged mailbox, and the investigating officer determined that someone had backed into the mailbox and driven off without notifying its owner. An ongoing larceny investigation involving a stolen camera valued at over $250 was investigated about 9:30 that night.
Thursday, Nov. 30
A burglar alarm on Brown Road went off just before 7 a.m. Thursday, but police determined that it was false. Two general traffic violation citations were given just after 2 p.m. on Ayer Road. Around 2:30 p.m., a Harvard resident brought in a pair of soccer shoes found on the Depot Road soccer fields. The shoes are at the station for safekeeping. Officers Newman and Hughes investigated a report of suspicious activity on Ayer Road that came in at 7:48 p.m., but the media officer would not release details of the incident to the press.
Friday, Dec. 1
Friday began quietly, with several motor vehicle traffic violations on Ayer Road in the early morning. At 10:32, a caller from Willard Lane reported hearing gun shots, but the officer investigating did not find any cause for the sound. Just before 4 p.m., an Ayer resident rear-ended a Shirley driver on Ayer Road, badly damaging her own car. No citations were issued, but the Ayer woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to Nashoba Hospital. Her car was towed from the scene. A backpack was brought to the station at 5:25 by someone who found it in front of ambulance headquarters. The backpack is still at the station in safekeeping. An Old Littleton Road resident was transported to Nashoba Hospital after dispatch received a call for medical assistance at 7:14 p.m. High winds Friday evening resulted in several calls to the station reporting downed wires and tree limbs on Old Littleton, Pinnacle, and Bolton roads between 10:24 and 11:16 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 2
Somebody reported suspicious activity on Westcott Road at 1:29 a.m. Saturday morning, but the media officer would not release details of the incident. A caller reported hunters on his property near Mettacomett Path about 8 a.m., but the police were unable to locate any hunters in the area. A Harvard resident called around 11 a.m. to complain about congestion at the town-center intersection caused by cars parked at the Congregational Church. A tree in the middle of Woodside Road was the subject of a 2:28 p.m. call to dispatch, who referred the matter to the highway department. Someone destroyed homemade “No trespassing” signs at a residence on Still River Road, according to the homeowner, who called Saturday afternoon. The investigating officer confirmed that the signs were damaged beyond repair.
Sunday, Dec. 3
Sunday was quiet until 4:06 p.m., when a woman reported receiving death threats from another individual. At 7:39 p.m., a caller on Ayer Road reported a motor vehicle vs. deer accident that had taken place earlier.
Monday, Dec. 4
At 9:39 a.m., police stopped a man from Fitchburg at Ayer Road and Route 2 for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. Police cited him for the infraction, and had the car towed from the scene. At the intersection of Oak Hill and Cleaves Hill roads, a Harvard resident called to report narrowly missing a bobcat with her car just after 8 p.m. Police notified animal control of the incident. Dispatch received a call for ambulance transport for a resident of Oak Hill Road just after 10 p.m., and a woman was transported to Nashoba Hospital. A similar call came in at 10:39 p.m. and an Ayer Road woman was also taken to Nashoba Hospital for medical help.
