Town beach septic system
At the request of Jim Lee from the Park and Recreation Commission, the Finance Committee voted to approve up to $2,500 to fund the design of a small septic system for the town beach. Lee said that he hopes to fund the construction of the system through a warrant article at Annual Town Meeting, with the cost estimated to be $30,000 to $35,000.
Hildreth House repairs
Finance Director and Interim Town Administrator Lorraine Leonard informed the Finance Committee that the contractor working at Hildreth House reported finding rot that will require some structural repairs, the extent of which is not yet fully known. The committee suggested bringing Building Inspector Gabe Vallente into the loop. In addition, they suggested that Leonard request an estimate of additional costs, plus a report of project progress. If the structural repairs are major, reevaluation of the project scope may be required.
