Robert “Bob” M. Duzan Sr., age 73, father of Robert Duzan Jr., died peacefully at home on Jan. 5, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Roslindale, he was the son of the late Herbert G. Duzan, a retired Boston police officer, and Constance (Bean) Duzan.
As a child, Bob attended Boston public schools and Boston Latin. He went on to complete his undergraduate work at Suffolk University and from there obtained his Juris Doctorate at Suffolk Law School in 1973, becoming a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Bob’s legal career began as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County and transitioned into a private criminal law practice based in Charlestown, alongside his longtime friend and business partner, Charles A. Clifford.
Bob settled in Winchester, where he raised his family. When he wasn’t busy in the courtroom, Bob enjoyed spending his off days at his second home in Falmouth. He could often be found driving around town looking at cars, boats, and real estate. He enjoyed spending time with his family, joking, and laughing. He had a wry sense of humor and a keen talent for debate. He was a kind soul with a heart of gold, ready to help anyone in need. He was an avid lover of animals. Bob particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandson, who brought a smile to his face whenever he saw him.
Bob was predeceased by his younger brother, David Duzan, and is lovingly survived by his son Eric Duzan of Mashpee, his son Robert M. Duzan Jr. and wife Jamie Kiely-Duzan of Harvard, and his grandson Sean. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services for Bob will be private.
