Aziz Aghayev, who has been the school district’s business manager since fall 2018, has submitted his resignation effective Jan. 21.
School Superintendent Linda Dwight said the district has already posted the job opening with online listings such as SchoolSpring. Her hope, she said, is to find another part-time person for the position, perhaps a retiree like Peter Rowe, who served as school business manager from 2016 to 2018.
Aghayev began the position working for the schools two days a week. Later his time was increased to three days a week to allow him to handle the state reimbursement documents for the new elementary school construction project. Before coming to Harvard, Aghayev was the chief financial officer for the Pioneer Charter School of Science in Everett, where he worked for eight years.
