2020-2021 Season 15 Opening Night
“Resonance” highlights music of black composers and celebrates Beethoven’s 250th anniversary
The Worcester Chamber Music Society (WCMS) will present six live-streamed concerts this fall beginning with “Resonance”— celebrating music of acclaimed black composers and Beethoven’s 250th anniversary.
Excited to be back, WCMS roars out of the gate with a rich and dynamic program presenting works by three unique voices in chamber music. Pulitzer Prize winner George Walker’s beloved Lyric for Strings, Jamaican-born Eleanor Alberga’s kinetic Quartet No.2 and Ludwig van Beethoven’s timeless Ghost piano trio comprise a concise and stimulating evening of music that will keep you on your toes.
“We celebrate the music of these two gifted and acclaimed black composers Eleanor Alberga and George Walker”, WCMS Executive Director Tracy Kraus said. “ They will always have a home here with us.”
