At 2:03 p.m. a fire alarm went off at a home on Depot Road, but the problem turned out to be a defective detector. At 3:29 p.m. the extreme hot weather set off another detector, this one in an attic on West Bare Hill Road; again, there was no fire.
Thursday, July 1
At 12:23 p.m. someone called about a vehicle fire on Interstate 495 southbound, and the Harvard Fire Department was alerted. But the Boxborough Fire Department searched the highway and found nothing, so the call was canceled.
Friday, July 2
At 10:45 a.m. Boxborough called in a two-alarm fire on Joyce Lane; Harvard sent its tanker to the fire scene, and Engine 2 went to Boxborough’s fire station to provide mutual aid coverage there.
