Tuesday, March 2 At 1:03 a.m. Boxborough police requested the assistance of Harvard police with a field sobriety test on the driver of a vehicle that had crossed the town line from Boxborough into Harvard. A fire officer investigated an alarm at the Congregational Church at 11:59 a.m. and found that a wire had been inadvertently cut during construction activities there. At 3:13 p.m. police responded to a request from an agency in Florida to confirm the identity of a Harvard man who had been seeking information from them about his daughter, who lives in Florida. A caller reported that a two car “fender-bender” accident had taken place at the General Store at 4:48 p.m. Damage was minor; no tow was required, and no citations were issued. Wednesday, March 3 At 2:46 a.m. police stopped a car on Still River Road near the Bolton town line and issued a summons to the Bolton youth who was driving, for operating to endanger. Police had clocked the car traveling at 90 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone. An officer on patrol at 11:17 a.m. stopped to investigate a parked car at the fire tower on Pinnacle Road, and found it belonged to a contractor who was working there. At 11:30 a.m. a caller reported suspicions about a man driving a champagne-colored van who was asking questions about his property, purportedly for an article he was writing. The van was gone when police arrived to investigate. A caller reported at 12:17 p.m. that someone had placed a road sign on his property. The Department of Public Works was notified to retrieve the sign and put it in its proper location. At 3:30 p.m. someone from the Department of Youth Services called looking for information about a family in town. Thursday, March 4 A Stow Road resident called at 9:01 a.m. to report observing a car speeding on that road every morning. Police said a radar patrol will be assigned to the area. At 11:58 a.m. someone stopped at the station looking for information regarding a harassment case. At 1:29 p.m. Boxborough police notified Harvard officers to watch for a car headed toward Harvard, bearing license plates that did not belong to that vehicle. Police did not locate the car.
Friday, March 5 At 10:32 a.m. state police advised Harvard police to watch for a tractor-trailer truck being driven erratically that had gotten off Route 2 in Harvard. Police did not locate the truck. At 2:53 p.m. a man under a restraining order asked police to accompany him to his home to retrieve personal belongings. At 7:18 p.m. a Stow Road resident reported yelling and screaming coming from another apartment in the building. Police located the person responsible and advised her to quiet down. At 5:43 p.m. a caller reported a dispute with a former landlord on St. John Lane, who refused to return some personal property. Police advised the landlord to return the property in question. The ambulance transported a man to Emerson Hospital from an Ayer Road address at 6:42 p.m. Saturday, March 6 At 9:11 a.m. a caller reported that a stop sign had been knocked down at Slough and Woodchuck Hill roads. Police left a message with the DPW to fix the sign. An Ayer Road resident reported at 10:25 a.m. that religious canvassers had just been to her house. Police advised her that the canvassers had checked in with police and would be working along routes 110 and 111 all day. Someone stopped at the station at 11:46 a.m. seeking legal advice. Sunday, March 7 A caller reported at 12:55 p.m. that a dog was caught in the swamp on Oak Meadow Road, but called back to report that he had freed the animal. Monday, March 8 An officer on patrol on Prospect Hill Road at 3:43 p.m. stopped to advise some people walking behind the stone wall at the overlook that they were not allowed to be there. At 5:01 p.m. a caller reported witnessing a minor two-car accident at the Route 2 off ramp, but the vehicles were gone when police arrived to investigate.
