Seventy-seven-year-old Albert Flick was convicted July 17 in Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn, Maine, for the murder of 48-year-old Kimberly Dobbie, a 1988 Bromfield graduate and former Harvard resident. Dobbie, who was living in a shelter in Lewiston, Maine, with her twin 11-year-old sons at the time, was stabbed to death by Flick outside a laundromat in Lewiston last July.
Flick had previously served 25 years in prison for stabbing his wife to death in 1979, and in 2010 he was sentenced to four years for assaulting a woman. He is now facing 25 years to life for Dobbie’s murder and is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 9. More information is available online in the Lewiston Sun Journal. National news outlets are also reporting the story, including NBC News, the Washington Post, and the New York Times.
