Lunch at Fife and Drum
Join the COA Wednesday, June 5, for lunch at the Fife and Drum restaurant in the Northeastern Correctional Center, a minimum-security prison in Concord. Have a three-course meal for less than $5, prepared by culinary students at the facility. Pay for your meal on site, and there is a $2 van fee. You must have a government-issued photo ID.
Discuss ‘Becoming’ at COA Book Club
Join other readers Thursday, June 6, at 3 p.m. (note new time) to discuss “Becoming” a memoir by former First Lady Michelle Obama. Carlene Phillips will lead the program.
Your medical decisions: Keeping your healthcare proxy informed
Come to Hildreth House Friday, June 7, at 9 a.m. for breakfast followed by a program on the important issue of medical decisions and healthcare proxies. Jack Whelan of Still River Senior Life Consultants will lead the program.
Let’s go to the movies
On Monday, June 10, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, see “A Star Is Born.” The R-rated film stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
Ice cream social
Have an ice cream sundae, enjoy the sunshine, and visit with friends on the Hildreth House porch Wednesday, June 12, 4 to 5 p.m. Debbie Thompson’s band, “Side Effects,” will provide live music. Sign up for June 5.
On Thursday, June 13, at noon, the COA will host a lunch to celebrate our fathers. If you have a photo of your dad, bring it and share a story or anecdote about him. Enjoy a special lunch and have a chat about how our fathers have influenced us.
Dr. Ayleen Gregorian, a podiatrist, will be at Hildreth House Monday, June 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call to schedule an appointment. The fee is $35.
Visit Butterfly Place
Take a trip to Westford’s Butterfly Place Wednesday, June 19, to see New England butterflies and tropical species from all over the world. The van will leave Hildreth House at 12:30 p.m. and will return by 3 p.m. Admission is $7 and the van fee is $2.
Schedule an appointment for help with computer issues Tuesday or Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Hildreth House. Or sign up for a workshop. The next workshop is Friday, June 21, and will deal with social media.
