On Tuesday, March 21, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence Public Library, 15 Main Street in Pepperell, the Nashua River Watershed Association will host a free presentation on how to prevent tick bites and tick-borne diseases. Talks by Dr. Katie Brown of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and veterinarian Dr. Kerri Mitton will cover the life cycle of local ticks, local tick-borne diseases, disease transmission, symptoms in humans and pets, best practices to avoid tick bites, and efforts to control tick populations.
