The Harvard Historical Society invites the public to tour the 1900 Common, visit residents in their homes, and enjoy music, singing, and supper in Upper Town Hall Saturday, Dec. 2, 4 to 8 p.m.
Annie Smith Peck (1850-1935) was one of the most accomplished women of the twentieth century that you've never heard of. Peck was a scholar, educator, writer, lecturer, mountain climber, suffragist, and political activist ... a feminist and an independent thinker who refused to let gender stereotypes stand in her way. On Friday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, the Warner Free Lecture Trust presents author Hannah Kimberley, who has written a biography of Peck. Kimberley describes her research of Peck’s original letters, artifacts, and ephemera, and brings Peck to life.
